Join CFCC in Toronto for Food Summit 2018! This annual event brings together staff from GFOs and CFCs to share ideas, make meaningful connections, and get energized for our collective work building a healthy and fair food system. This year’s theme is Power up! Food is power in so many ways: it fuels our bodies, it mobilizes our communities, and it’s what brings people together the world over. We’ll be powering up this year’s Summit with 20 dynamic workshops, powerful stories, themed meet-ups, social events, and more. A rough schedule, logistics, and ticket information are below. Registration closes on March 23rd, 2018 but register early to secure a spot! Watch this space as more program details will be available soon.
Hear tips and strategies from the pros on getting people excited about trying new and healthy foods. Our three panelists will be discussing their promising practices — like the importance of presenting foods in appealing ways, educating youth on new ingredients and how to cook them, and serving food in a dignified way. Learn about the kinds of healthy foods that Community Food Centres are introducing, like pulses, vegetarian foods, and traditional Indigenous foods like moose meat.
